Hundreds of Young People and their leaders from all over the Conwy Scout District were joined by representatives of Girlguiding Cymru at the District’s Annual St George’s Day parade to mark both the Patron Saint of Scouting, and a huge milestone for Scouts locally.
Scouting in the District celebrates it’s centenary this year, following it’s launch locally in 1908, and there really has never been a better time to be a Scout!
Last year saw the centenary of Scouting globally, and a host of local, national and international events to celebrate, from the Centenary Camp for Scouts from across North West Wales at the Faenol Estate near Bangor, to the World Scout Jamboree, which saw 40,000 Young People from virtually every country worldwide, join together and show the world that peace is possible, in Essex during the Summer.
Only three months ago saw the introduction of forty new activities into the Scout programme, which is designed to encourage Young People to undertake activities, not just for their own sake, but to look at how it helps their development.
