Llandrillo-yn-Rhos Venture Unit
The Venture Scout Unit was formed in 1968 as part of the 3 Rhos on Sea (5 Colwyn Bay) Scout Group with a membership of 6. A year later this membership had grown to 14. It is interesting to note that out of the original group of 14 members, 12 gained their Queen’s Scout Award over the next few years.
In 1972 they took over the Scout Hut on the Little Orme – the former H.Q.of Penrhyn Bay Scouts. In 1974 a combined Venture Scout, Ranger Guide group from Clwyd, completed an expedition to Austria, the largest contingent being from the Colwyn Bay area including members of the Llandrillo yn Rhos Unit
